Columbus Day Weekend is upon us and it will be a fun time for all.  We have many activities in store for you this weekend at Ocean Crest Resort.

First is our Highway 101 Sips and Bites.  Wine Director Stephen Pavletich and Executive Chef Andrew Bickar will be serving up some great food and wines in our lounge on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00.  Stephen is pouring 3 wine from the Olympic Peninsula 101 loop and Andrew is creating 3 plates to match.  It is certain to be a delicious experience.  Space is limited and almost sold out.  If you would like to attend you need to call 1-800-684-8439 today and reserve your place.

Second is clam digging.  That’s right, many will be descending on the Washington Coast in the quest for Siliqua patula, the Pacific Razor Clam.  This should be a particularly good dig, there have been some good low tides lately and the clams are plentiful.

Of course you could also just come out for some beach combing, a massage, swimming, a soak in the hot tub, curling up by the fire in an ocean view room, a romantic dinner for 2… the possibilities are endless and we have some terrific lodging specials for you to take advantage of.

If you are already committed to the top of the peninsula, Chef/Owner Jess Owen, aka The Culinary Madman, will be performing a cooking demonstration at the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival in Port Angeles on Saturday.  Jess hits the stage and Noon and will be revealing the secrets to his Culinary Madman’s Smoked Clam Chowder which he debuted at the Razor Clam Festival and Taste Washington wine event earlier this year.
